Tuvalu Ridge to Reef Project(R2R) is the initiative of the Government project funded under the Global Environment Facilities (GEF) through the UNDP. The R2R objectives is mainly to preserve Tuvalu Marine, Terrestrial Biodiversity, Ecosystem services and to improve livelihood. The project team consist of the Project Implementing Unit (PIU) and 9 Island Officers. On the 9 August, the team together with the Biodiversity Officer with some stakeholders took a field trip to the Funafuti conservation areas with the objectives to familiarise the island officers with regulations of Marine Protected areas and to train in Biodiversity surveys which was conducted on Fualopa and Tepuka.
